Some recent studies in 2016 on luxury travellers have shown that over two to three years the luxury travellers have chosen to go for adventurous vacations instead of comfortable and conventional trips.

The results have suggested that over 90% of the luxury travellers choose to visit adventurous travel locations like Iceland, Ecuador, Chile, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Peru, Cuba, Antarctica, North Pole, South Africa and Australia instead of choosing luxurious destinations in Europe. But the main reason behind the changing pattern is not yet clear to the experts. It is estimated that the current political situation in the formerly popular destinations and the continuous terror threats are evoking the travellers to choose unconventional destinations and be daredevils. The luxury travellers are looking for more active holidays over the lazy and relaxing ones.

The study shows that recently the globetrotters are opting for the adrenaline rush inducing activities like trekking, kayaking, biking, scuba diving, wildlife safari, cruise expedition and several others.

The survey reports also unveiled that almost 41 per cent of the travellers are between 50 and 65, where 24 per cent tourists are between 35 and 50 and 21 per cent are above the age of 65. The study also suggests that apart from the solo travellers and honeymooners, group of friends and families are going for these luxury adventure trips.

According to industry experts, the new trend is about to give rise to the luxury hotels and other accommodations in the unconventional travel destinations. They have also predicted that the trend is going to help the small cruising industry to earn more revenue and overall growth. With an increased demand, the small cruises might add some more finer facilities in the cabins for the travellers to enjoy.
