WTM Portfolio opens registration for events in Latin America, Africa and Middle East

Three leading travel industry exhibitions in the World Travel Market portfolio of events are expected to set new records in April for visitor numbers and trade deals. Registration is now open for the trio of events: World Travel Market Latin AmericaWorld Travel Market Africa and Arabian Travel Market.
The events expect to attract more delegates and facilitate more business deals than ever before, following on from the success of World Travel Market London 2016 which saw a record £2.8 billion in deals agreed amongst a joint-high 51,500 delegates. The WTM portfolio of events facilitates more than $7 billion in industry contracts.
Looking forward to its fifth edition is WTM Latin America (4-6 April), which will feature more than 700 exhibiting companies.
It takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and incorporates the Braztoa Business Event.
WTM Latin America generates more than US$370 million in new business in 2016 and will host more than 6,500 tourism professionals.
Lawrence Reinisch, Director at WTM Latin America, said: “With more exhibitors and buyers taking part in 2017, we will undoubtedly have a record number of participants.”
Next up is WTM Africa; launched in 2014 it attracts almost 5,000 travel industry professionals.
This year’s event will again take place in Cape Town, South Africa, on 19-21 April.
Chardonnay Marchesi, General Manager at WTM Africa, said: “We are Africa’s leading and only B2B exhibition for inbound and outbound Africa travel and tourism markets.
“Last year we saw visitor numbers up by about 20% and this year will see a host of enhancements and must-attend sessions, so we anticipate more growth in 2017.”
WTM Africa will be followed by Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the leading international travel and tourism event in the Middle East, on 24-27 April.
ATM attracts almost 40,000 industry professionals, agreeing deals worth US$2.5 billion over four days.
The upcoming 24th edition of ATM will showcase more than 2,500 exhibiting companies across 12 halls at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Simon Press, Senior Director, Arabian Travel Market, said: “This year’s ATM will be the largest in its 24-year history. Last year we saw a 7% year-on-year rise in visitor numbers with more than 28,000 trade visitors attending the show, and this year the signs are we will again break records for visitor numbers and the value of deals agreed.”
