SeaLink launches First Ever Manly to Barangaroo Fast Ferry

SeaLink Capricornian

The SeaLink Travel Group will commence operation of the ‘Barangaroo Fast Ferry’, the first ever direct ferry service from Manly, Sydney’s premier beach resort, to Barangaroo from early September 2017.
Barangaroo is an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located on the north-western edge of the Sydney central business district and the southern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The service will operate daily between Manly Hotel Wharf No 3, and King Street Wharf 1, Barangaroo. It will depart every 30 minutes during peak hours Monday to Friday commencing 6:45am. Weekends the service will operate regularly from 9:30 through to 6pm.
Barangaroo Fast Ferry prices will start from $8.90 one way, with an 11-trip travel pass available from only $7.50 per trip.
According to Anthony Haworth, Captain Cook Cruises, General Manager, the Barangaroo Fast Ferry service would not have been possible without the support of the NSW Government, Transport Minister Andrew Constance and Local Member for Manly, James Griffin MP.
“SeaLink are excited to be starting the ‘Barangaroo Fast Ferry’. It will provide the first direct service for commuters from Manly to Barangaroo.
This service will cut commuter travel time from Manly to Barangaroo and surrounding city locations significantly and will enhance the use of Sydney Harbour as Sydney’s blue highway”, says Mr Haworth.
“We would like to thank the local member James Griffin, who has been an advocate for this service and active in working alongside Captain Cook Cruises since his term in office, to ensure the Barangaroo Fast Ferry came to fruition.” Continues Mr Haworth.
Local Member for Manly James Griffin said “Providing more public transport options is something I said I do during the election campaign, so I am proud to be able to deliver on that promise.”
“This new Manly to Barangaroo service will make life easier for commuters and I’ll continue to work hard to make sure we get the public transport we need.”
“Barangaroo is an amazing precinct, this service will open up a new way to get to and from work for many people and provide another convenient option for weekend travel to the city.”
SeaLink’s announcement comes after Andrew Constance, Minister for Transport and Infrastructure recently announced commercial ferry operators will be allowed to provide direct services between Manly and Darling Harbour without needing a passenger service contract with Transport for NSW.
Further information on the ferry service will be released via Barangaroo Fast Ferry social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
