Tauck, an operator of guided tour and cruises on rivers, has partnered with filmmaker Ken Burns on a pair of Southeast Asia itineraries for the forthcoming premiere of Burns’ latest documentary series, “The Vietnam War”.
The series will be aired on PBS in September and it will be the first time that the itineraries will involve destination outside of the United States.
“Indochina: Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos” and “Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand” are the Tauck Itineraries that will take 16 days to be featured and will commence in 2018. It will feature enhancements that will include a series of exclusive to Tauck documentary film shorts about Vietnam that the guest will explore.
There will be insights and perspectives by Burns, the co-director Lynn Novick and Sarah Botstein, producer of the Vietnam War as well as the Vietnam War-era foots and archival still photos.
There will be around eight and 10 vignettes produced for use on Tauck’s Southeast Asia tours that will explore the cultural and political divides exposed by the Vietnam War and how the media shaped the course of the conflict and the mythologies related to the war.
