Istanbul, a popular destination for sportive events, will host UEFA Super Cup match in 2019. Beşiktaş’s home stadium of 43,000-capacity Vodafone Park will host the final match.
It is not the first final game for Istanbul. The city hosted the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final at the Ataturk Stadium where Liverpool beat AC Milan 3-2 on penalties after the match finished 3-3 after extra time.
In 2009, Fenerbahçe's Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium hosted the 2009 UEFA Cup Final that FC Shakhtar Donetsk beat Werder Bremen 2-1.
Other cities that bid for the 2019 UEFA Super Cup final are: Tirana, Toulouse, Haifa, Astana, Belfast, Gdansk
