The National Tour Association has openings. While NTA isn’t doing the hiring itself, the association of packaged-travel experts has launched the NTA Career Center, an online interactive job board.
“Members as well as nonmembers can use the career center to reach qualified candidates or to find the job that’s right for them,” says Pam Inman, NTA president. “Employers can post jobs online and search for candidates based on specific job criteria, and job seekers can post their resumes and browse for openings that best match their career goals.”
The NTA Career Center is free to people who are seeking jobs, and companies using the highly targeted resource pay a fee when listing a job opening.
“I posted an opening for an experienced motorcoach travel planner on the NTA Career Center, and I found it easy to use,” says Jack Hintz, operations manager at Fancy Free Holidays, an NTA member in Naperville, Illinois.
The online platform also offers specialized services through a third party, including resume writing, career coaching and a way for job seekers to discreetly find out what their references are saying about them. Launched in late September, the NTA Career Center advertises a wide variety of jobs within the travel industry.
“A quick look at the job board will show openings for positions that range from creative designers and marketing specialists to sales managers and CVB presidents,” Inman says. “And the fact that people can search for jobs anonymously encourages more participation.”
