American Airlines is making best efforts by leveraging the immensely popular superhero theme for a noble cause.

The world’s air carrier has unveiled a custom-wrapped airplane featuring bold graphics tied to a brand new Marvel Studios ‘Avenger: Infinity Wars’ movie and the carrier’s persistent support for the Stand Up To Cancer project.

It is featured as part of the plane wrap. In the feature, many AA employees who are cancer survivors are displayed.

The plan wrap unveiled currently was scheduled to coincide with the new Avengers movie’s world premiere this week in Los Angeles. The movie tie-in that AA has been promoting intends to draw attention to the fact that cancer survivors are superheroes in their own right.

Among the AA employees observed in the plane wrap is Ron France, a Chicago-based American Airlines pilot and kidney cancer survivor.

Elise Eberwein, executive vice president of people and communications at American Airlines mentioned that their team members are true service superheroes and are the forefront of everything that is accomplished at American Airlines.

The team members featured in this campaign represent all American team members who are presently fighting or have fought this terrible disease and they are humbled at this attitude.

In addition to the plane wrap, AA’s Stand Up to Cancer superheroes project will include a print public service announcement featuring “Avengers: Infinity War” cast members Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, Stand Up to Cancer scientific advisor Lee Helman and an AA customer service agent who is a three-time breast cancer survivor, Shandra Fitzpatrick.

A broadcast public service announcement would be featuring many of the same people.

Marvel’s senior vice president of global partnerships and marketing Mindy Hamilton said of the project with American Airlines and Stand Up To Cancer: that it is an honor to bring these worlds together. Superheroes are often placed on pedestals as the ultimate paradigms, so they were excited to shift the spotlight onto the real-life heroes who battle against this terrible disease every day.

Stand Up to Cancer raises funds to accelerate the pace of research to get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now.

For every dollar donated by AA customers to Stand Up to Cancer while the promotion is in progress, AA AAdvantage members will receive 10 AAdvantage miles with a minimum $25 donation.
