The state tourism officials in Kentucky are promoting its tourism opportunities and with that as summer travel is approaching the tourism revenue generations are soaring high along with increase of tourists’ number.

The tourism industry responsible to create more than 190,000 jobs, clocked in at $14.5 billion for 2016, and in 2017, it certainly went significantly higher with traditional mainstay sectors growing. The new sectors are showing strength and one-time events in Kentucky are attracting visitors literally from across US and beyond.

Kentucky Travel and Tourism Commissioner Kristen Branscum said that Derby allures many international visitors through traditions. While on the contrary, Louisville, the largest city sits on the Ohio River along the Indiana border attract millions of tourists.

Branscum said that they are focusing outside the state. The tourism officials expect the visitors from other states and other countries.  They want to get them into Kentucky and spend their time and their money in the communities and culture.

The Kentucky Derby traditionally attracts millions of international tourists on its own.  But, a number of smaller businesses do count on state tourism marketing to help generate commercial dollars.

Pike County Tourism, Convention, and Visitors Bureau Director Tony Tackett said that it was the play for bed and breakfasts, boutiques, gift shops, and diners.

According to the new travel figures in Kentucky, the country attracted more than 26 million visitors in along with $12 million tourism generation annually.
